Why does the points system exist?
Star and Shiny cards are bound by the game’s trade rules and cannot be delivered directly the way diamond cards can (see Card Rarity Explained for why). So that regulars still have a path to high-rarity cards, CardWish runs a points system: claim cards daily to build points, and once you reach the threshold, pick a card from the Star and Shiny catalogue and the system delivers it through an in-game trade. In short — check in every day for free diamond cards, and bankroll your Star and Shiny cards along the way.
How do points accumulate?
There are only two rules, both tied to your Player ID:
- Daily claim: a successful claim through the CardWish website (status shows Delivered) earns 1 point that day. Queued or failed requests do not count, and claiming more than once on the same day still counts once.
- Streak bonus: claiming on consecutive days earns an extra point on milestone days (day 3, 6, 9, and so on). A broken streak restarts from the beginning, but the points you have already earned are untouched.
Points only go up: they never expire and never reset — they are deducted only when you redeem. Come back after a month away and everything you saved is still there.
How do I check my points?
Open the claim page and enter (or select) your Player ID. A progress bar shows your current points and streak. Below the threshold, it shows how far you are from the next redemption; once you reach it, the gold “Redeem high-rarity cards” button appears.
The five redemption steps
Step 1: Tap “Redeem high-rarity cards” next to the progress bar to open the reward catalogue — it carries ★1 and ★2 Star cards plus Shiny 1 and Shiny 2, filterable by pack and rarity.
Step 2: Pick the card you want and confirm. The system first reserves the corresponding points (so they cannot be spent twice), then starts processing.
Step 3: Just like a regular claim, the delivery account sends a friend request to your Player ID — accept it in the game under Social Hub → Friends → Approve.
Step 4: Complete the trade in the game. Per the game’s rules, a trade requires a same-rarity card from your side: trading for a ★1 costs a ★1, and a Shiny card costs a Shiny of the matching tier.
Step 5: When it completes, the status shows Delivered and the points are deducted for good. If it fails along the way (for example, the invitation expires), the reserved points are refunded automatically — nothing is lost.
Does redemption use my daily claim allowance?
No. Redemption runs on a separate track and does not consume the free daily delivery — you can claim a free diamond card and redeem a Star card on the same day. For the same reason, there is no “wait until 14:00” gate on redemptions: as long as you have the points and the catalogue has stock, you can redeem any time.
Practical strategies for building points
- Consistency beats bursts: you can only earn once per day, so the only way to climb is to show up daily. Stacked streak bonuses beat sporadic visits by a wide margin.
- Tie it to an existing habit: bundle your claim with the game’s daily missions and it takes care of itself. The allowance resets at 14:00 Taiwan time, so claiming before your evening session fits neatly.
- Daily diamond claims are worth it on their own: don’t claim cards you don’t need just for the points — use the claim ranking to fill your deck’s ◆4 ex cores first, and the points accumulate on their own; Star and Shiny cards arrive as a bonus.
- Pick a target before you redeem: the catalogue holds hundreds of cards. Browse the Card Dex with the rarity filter, settle on a target first, and you won’t freeze at the menu.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Do claims made through the old Google Form count?
No. Points count only successful claims made through the CardWish website.
Q: Can I redeem a ★3 or Crown card?
No. The game does not allow ★3 or Crown cards to be traded at all, so no channel can provide them — and they are not in the catalogue.
Q: I have two accounts — can I merge their points?
No. Points are tied to each Player ID and cannot be transferred or merged.
Q: What if I have no same-rarity card to give in the trade?
The game requires same-rarity trades, so without a matching card the trade cannot complete. Keeping one or two duplicate Star cards from pack openings as trade fodder is a common veteran habit.
